- What specific problem or need did you identify in the market that led you to develop this innovative product?
We all want that perfect workstation to make us feel organised and prepared to create with our clients. I love to have products in an upright storage solution so it’s super quick to see everything and pick out what I need.
- How did you ensure that the product's design aligned with its intended functionality and user experience?
The classic MYKITCO canvas material is tried and tested to be reliable, durable, and functional. The flexibility in this material also really helps make sure our community can fit in as many pencils as they need! We had to ensure that the lid of MY PENCIL POD was in the thick PVC material you know and love, so you can see what’s inside the pod with ease. It also makes it super easy to wipe down any mess from being on a busy workstation.
- What challenges did you encounter during the design process, and how did you overcome them?
Finding the right material for our dividers was the biggest challenge when designing my pencil pod. Providing high quality products to our community is the MOST important thing to us and my pencil pod is no different. This kit is at it’s a core designed for those busy artists who need organisation to bring convenience and ease to their kit. Ensuring the material was strong and durable enough to hold as much product as they need securely whilst on-the-go was a challenge, but we know this is what our community relies on.
- How did you involve potential customers in the design and development stages of MY PENCIL POD?
After the sell out of my pencil pouch, we knew that our community was ready to get organised with their lip and eye pencils. Here at MYKITCO we are built on a team of makeup artists and makeup lovers so during the design process, it was all hands-on deck to make sure it was tried and tested. After round of feedback from all types of makeup lovers in our own team, we knew it was ready for our customers to use and get organised.
